This document provides guidance on how to address issues such as jerky movement or rust on linear motor rails.
We also recommend regular lubrication of the linear rails (once every 1.5 months).
The areas of the linear rail that are prone to rust are shown in the image below:
First, use WD-40 to remove the rust from these areas, especially inside the ball bearing tracks:
After applying a sufficient amount of WD-40, use a lint-free cloth to wipe the rust away:
Using a soft brush, apply the grease evenly on the linear rail, then manually move the motor back and forth to distribute the grease along the entire rail:
