¶ How to Replace the X-Axis Cable

Below are the detailed steps:
¶ 1. Loosen the 4 screws on the drag chain cable metal plate
¶ 2. Remove the cover plate of the Y-axis motor
After removal, the setup should look like the image below:
¶ 3. Loosen the cable tie fixing the cables
¶ 4. Remove the cover plate of the control box at the bottom of the machine
As shown in the image below, remove the screws on the cover plate of the control box:
¶ 5. Cut the cable tie fixing the cables at the back of the machine
¶ 6. Loosen the X-axis motor cable plug
Note: Before unplugging, take a photo of the wiring with your phone for reference during reassembly. The X-axis cable plug includes two connectors: one for the X-axis encoder (as shown below):
The other plug is for the X-axis motor power cable. You need to unplug the connector indicated as #1 in the image below before removing it:
¶ 7. Remove the X-axis motor cable from the cable fixture
Here, remove the cables one by one from the printer; do not attempt to pull out multiple cables at once.
After removal:
¶ 8. Remove the X-axis cable from the braided mesh
After loosening the X-axis cable, remove the cable from the braided mesh:
¶ 9. Loosen the drag chain cable metal fixture and remove the drag chain cable from the machine
After loosening the screw, the entire drag chain cable can be removed from the machine:
¶ 10. Install the new X-axis drag chain cable onto the machine in the reverse order of disassembly
After replacing the cable, please refer to this wiki to re-initialize the parameters of the X-axis motor:
